Houston, TX -- The Houston chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America is launching an annual Walk4Hearing in October 2007. The Walk4Hearing is a nationally coordinated effort that has two clear goals: 1) to increase awareness about the causes of hearing loss; and 2) to raise funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss. It is estimated that almost 31 million Americans are affected by hearing loss. The vast majority of them lack much needed information and support as they struggle to fit into a hearing world. The Hearing loss Association of America is dedicated to providing that information and support - and to enable people with hearing loss to live full and productive lives. The Walk4Hearing benefits the Hearing Loss Association of America and the Houston chapter to support issues related to hearing loss advocacy, outreach, and education.
